SENIOR WEB SOFTWARE ENGINEER


As an IPS MeteoStar Senior Web Software Engineer you will experience the following opportunities:

We expect you to be a highly motivated, self-starter able to handle multiple priorities to accurate completion under time deadlines. The ability to troubleshoot is a must as our diverse customers encounter a diverse set of challenges. A degree in Computer Science or related discipline is desirable, as well as 5 years of programming experience with the ability to articulate and stand behind complex software solutions. Experience with the following tools and technologies are also desired as many are used in our existing web and server applications: Ruby on Rails, JavaScript, Apache, Linux, HTML, HTTPS, Java, Perl, C/C++, QT, SVN (Subversion) and Microsoft Office Tools (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint). You will be working from our offices located in the Denver Technology Center area (I-25 & Dry Creek) for this position.

WEATHER PRODUCT SPECIALIST


General Job Details:

Job Summary:
  • Oversees creation and utilization of IPSM LEADS® weather products and scripts to ensure that customer requirements are satisfied.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Identifies and reviews customer requirements for weather products and LEADS® scripts.
  • Creates customized, visually pleasing, and information-rich products and scripts for customers based on those requirements.
  • Troubleshoots product generation and scripting issues with customers.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and assist in problem solving.
  • Prepares product and scripting-related reports for presentation to customers, management, and others.
  • Trains and assists customers in developing best practices for scripting and product generation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:

PROGRAM MANAGER


General Job Details:

Job Summary:
  • Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated project to ensure that goals or objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
  • Reviews project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations/budget, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, risks, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.
  • Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
  • Confers with project staff to outline work-plans and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Uses IPSM Software Development and Release Management processes to facilitate project completion.
  • Reviews status reports prepared by project personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
  • Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
  • Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
  • Coordinates project activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Agile software development using SCRUM or other project management framework(s)
  • Software programming or software programming management experience
  • Software design and/or architecture experience
  • Contracting or contract negotiations

Reasoning Ability:

Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong knowledge of Word Processing software, Spreadsheet software, and Project Management software. A strong general knowledge of computer operations is highly desired. Apple/Mac, and/or Linux experience a plus.

SOFTWARE ENGINEER


IPS MeteoStar, a leading international provider of weather analysis/mapping software and weather data products is currently seeking an entry-level Software Engineer for our Engineering Department. The person in this position will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Analyze, design, develop, integrate and maintaining the commercial software baselines
  • Troubleshooting and repairing fielded software
  • Working with customers to identify and solve problems
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting production system
  • Works with external and internal clients in the Software Development, Test, and Installation organizations to understand Software Development Life Cycle
  • Write unit test and users manual updates for new functionality
  • Follow IPSM software development processes and procedures

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-starter able to handle multiple priorities to accurate completion under strict time deadlines. The ability to troubleshoot is a must. A degree in Computer Science or related discipline is desirable, as well as 1 year minimum programming experience. Experience with the following tools and technologies are also desired:
